SUPER EMPTY. is a media project dedicated to the stories, sounds and characters of North Carolina hip-hop and the broader creative culture that surrounds them, from Wilmington to Applachia and everywhere in between. Through original writing, photography and illustration, we aim to publish considered, thoughtful music writing that resists easy flattening or simplification, and pushes back against the polarizing, quick-hit nature of modern media — keeping you up to date, but also striving to make you think, not just react. We also produce a quarterly print edition, although the elusive first edition has still never been released.
